What we do not store
We do not store video files. TubeDigest does not download or keep copies of YouTube video media on our servers.
Captions, insights, and cache
We use available English captions from YouTube (including auto-generated English tracks when present) to generate AI key insights and a readable transcript.
Caption text and generation results may be cached for up to 60 days to improve performance and reduce repeat processing. After that period, cached entries may be removed.
When you use the TubeDigest for YouTube Chrome extension, caption text from the YouTube page may be sent to TubeDigest servers to generate Insights, and may be cached for up to 60 days under the same rules as the website.
Account and authentication
If you sign in with Google, we receive basic account identifiers (such as your user id and email) via our authentication provider so we can maintain your account, history access, and subscription status.
Payments
Paid subscriptions are processed by Paddle. We do not store your full payment card details. Paddle may share subscription and billing status with us so we can unlock Pro features.
Usage and abuse prevention
We may process limited technical signals (such as hashed IP-related limits) to enforce free daily quotas and reduce abuse. We aim to collect only what is needed to run the service.
